Metadata Requirements
- All metadata fields must be complete and accurate.
- Artist names must match your Spotify for Artists profile.
- ISRC codes are required for every track.
- UPC codes are required for every release.
- Track titles should not include version information in the title field (use the version field instead).
Artwork Requirements
- 3000 x 3000 pixels minimum.
- JPEG format, RGB color space.
- 1:1 aspect ratio.
- No explicit imagery without parental advisory.
Audio Requirements
- WAV or FLAC preferred.
- 44,100 Hz sample rate.
- 16-bit or 24-bit depth.
- Stereo channels.
Loudness Standards
Spotify normalizes loudness to -14 LUFS integrated. Tracks significantly louder than this target will be turned down. For optimal sound quality:
- Target -14 LUFS integrated loudness.
- Keep true peak below -1 dBTP.
- Avoid over-compression.
Playlist Strategy
- Submit unreleased music through Spotify for Artists at least 7 days before release.
- Use canvas (short looping videos) for enhanced presentation.
- Maintain an active profile with updates and playlists.
- Encourage fans to save tracks to their libraries.
