ISRC Assignment & Master Rights Verification Policy

Policy Summary: Free ZMG ISRC assignment service for eligible recordings, mandatory 100% master rights declaration, and duplicate prevention.
1. What is an ISRC?
An ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) is the unique international digital identifier assigned to a specific sound recording or music video. It serves as an electronic fingerprint for tracking digital distribution, radio airplay, and streaming royalties worldwide. An ISRC identifies a recording; it does not itself constitute legal proof of copyright ownership.
2. Free ISRC Assignment by Zaventra Music Group
Zaventra Music Group provides a free ISRC assignment service for all eligible recordings distributed through our platform. No assignment fees are charged for issuing authorized unique ISRCs to qualifying releases.
3. Mandatory 100% Master Rights Confirmation
To be eligible for a new Zaventra ISRC, the submitter must affirm:
“I confirm that I own 100% of the master recording rights for this recording, or I am an authorized representative of the verified rights owner with legal authority to request an ISRC. I confirm that the recording has not already been assigned an ISRC and that all submitted information is accurate.”
If master rights are shared, disputed, or subject to conflicting claims, an automatic ISRC cannot be issued through the standard pathway and requires manual legal review.
4. Preservation of Existing ISRCs
Under international IFPI standards, an already assigned ISRC must remain with the sound recording for its entire lifetime, even if the recording changes record labels, distributors, or ownership. You must provide existing valid ISRCs during ingestion; our system strictly prevents the generation of duplicate codes for existing recordings.
