YouTube Copyright Claim Release Policy

Last Updated: October 19, 2026 • Published by Zaventra Music Group Operations

Policy Summary: Complete 5-step operational process for submitting, verifying, and releasing valid YouTube copyright claims.

1. Distinguishing Content ID Claims from Copyright Strikes

A Content ID claim is an automated identification that allows the rights holder to monetize, track, or block a video containing their music. It does NOT impose a copyright strike on the channel. A Copyright Strike / DMCA Takedown is a formal legal removal that penalizes a YouTube channel. This policy governs Content ID claims managed by Zaventra Music Group.

2. Five-Step Operational Claim Release Workflow

To request a claim release for authorized promotional videos, whitelisted artist channels, or licensed content, follow our verified 5-step workflow:
  1. Step 1 — Request Submission: Submit the request via our legal/support portal including affected Video URL, Channel ID, Track Title, ISRC, and Claim ID screenshot.
  2. Step 2 — Rights Verification: Zaventra operations verifies that the requester is the authorized rights holder or holds an approved synchronization/promotional license.
  3. Step 3 — Claim Investigation: The claimant entity, reference file, and distribution status are audited to confirm the claim originated from Zaventra's CMS.
  4. Step 4 — Release Execution: If the claim was initiated under ZMG's CMS and release is justified, an authorized operator executes the release within YouTube CMS. For third-party claims, the request is forwarded to the originating rights administrator.
  5. Step 5 — Status Confirmation: Platform confirmation is audited. The request status transitions from RELEASE_REQUESTED to RELEASE_CONFIRMED once YouTube APIs verify the claim has cleared.

3. Standard Ticket Lifecycle Statuses

Claim release requests transition through defined operational states:
  • REQUEST_RECEIVED — Intake verified; awaiting initial screening.
  • INFORMATION_REQUIRED — Missing video ID, ISRC, or license documentation.
  • RIGHTS_REVIEW — Master ownership and license validity under review.
  • RELEASE_REQUESTED — Instruction transmitted to YouTube Content ID.
  • RELEASE_CONFIRMED — Claim officially removed on YouTube.
  • RELEASE_REJECTED — Ineligible request (unauthorized requester, conflicting third-party rights).
